remember last season????

Herring..........

I went out to see if the cod were about today, but after a few herring popped up on feathers, i put on a herring style S.P. to see if anything was chomping on them.
But after a long while there were no takes...
It was nice to be on the water... but blooming cold!
Forgot my gloves too so the ol paws were blocks of ice (specially with an aluminium paddle)
All the herring were this size and smaller....

quick paddle after work......

Finished work at four on Friday and brought the yak with me... wanted to get out for a paddle to stop me from seizing up!
I left the fishing gear at home because the light would go quickly... and when i got there the conditions were perfect... it was really nice out there watching the sun dip... and i had a nice paddle.
I wish the light would have lasted longer though.....

Blanked again!

Got up early.. loaded all the gear and arrived at the mark nearly an hour later.
Set up the fly rod and yak and fished hard for hours.
No joy at all......
Now.. the water clarity was very poor, i don't know if this was the problem this time..
Finished around half two.. a bit fed up.. but it was a lovely mild day on very calm water...
The Pike win again!

Well......

The clue is in the title.....
After a nasty bout of flu which began the Monday before x-mas...i am starting to feel normal again. ( some people would say that's impossible!)
My appetite is still all over the place, but i feel the need to get out and fish.
SO....
a gentle start is needed.... with NO swells that's for sure.....
I may have to have another crack off the Pike with the fly rod..... failure beckons...
Watch this space.....I'm not nervous you know...
